Background: The Division of Textiles and Apparel stages an annual fashion event to showcase designs of graduating seniors in the apparel design program. The students are using sustainable fabrics and embracing technology, designing digital prints, creating laser-cut patterns and working with textured knits.
The event drew more than 5,000 attendees last year, and an even larger audience is expected this year. Prizes are awarded for Best Fashion Collection, Most Innovative Fashion Collection, Most Marketable Fashion Collection, Best Constructed Fashion Collection, and Best Evening and Bridal Gown. Winners will be determined by a panel of judges composed of professionals in the fashion industry.
The fashion show and exposition are sponsored by the University Co-operative Society, Sephora Cosmetics, Colbalt Blue Hair Salon, the Students Events Center, Texas Student Media, Tribeza Magazine, Austin Woman Magazine and Fashionably Austin.
