AUSTIN, Texas — Tom Standage, digital editor at The Economist, will examine the flow of human history through the ages of beer, wine, spirits, coffee, tea and Coca-Cola at an event March 5 hosted by The University of Texas at Austin’s IC² Institute.

BACKGROUND: Tom Standage is author of six books including “Writing on the Wall,” “An Edible History of Humanity,” “A History of the World in Six Glasses” and “The Victorian Internet.” The event is co-sponsored by The University of Texas at Austin’s IC² Institute, McCombs School of Business, School of Journalism and The Economist. Light refreshments will be served.
