UT Austin to Close at 10 p.m.; Tomorrow’s Reopening to be Determined

AUSTIN, Texas — The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a winter storm warning for Central Texas for this evening. The University of Texas at Austin asks that those on campus use extreme caution in anticipation of this winter storm. The campus will officially close at 10 p.m. tonight, March 3, 2014, due to the possibility of winter weather.

Essential personnel, defined by www.policies.utexas.edu/policies/emergency-leave, are asked to report as requested by their supervisors.

The university will continue to monitor the situation overnight.  As the situation progresses, updates specific to closure and reopening will be available through local media, the university's Facebook page and Twitter feed, the emergency web page (www.utexas.edu/emergency), and by calling the university's emergency information number, 512-232-9999.
