Going for Gold: Twenty-two current or former Longhorn student-athletes have earned spots on their respective countries' 2008 Olympic team and a total of 27 athletes and coaches will represent their countries from Aug. 8-24 in Beijing, China.
This summer's Olympics has a Longhorn flavor, with members of the U.S. Olympic swim team using workout and recovery sports performance drinks created by Dr. John Ivy, chair of the College of Education's Department of Kinesiology and Health Education.
The 2008 Summer Olympic Games will be held Aug. 8-24 in Beijing, China. More than 10,000 athletes are expected to compete in the games, including 18 current or former University of Texas at Austin student-athletes.
Architecture Faculty and Students Travel to Beijing for International Collaboration with Tsinghua University
As all eyes turn to Beijing in anticipation of the 2008 Olympics, architecture faculty and students at The University of Texas at Austin are working in collaboration with renowned Tsinghua University to bring green space into a neighborhood outside the densely populated city.
