AUSTIN, Texas – The University of Texas at Austin mourns the passing of Vincent R. DiNino, director of bands emeritus. He was 95 years old.
The Music Teachers National Association (MTNA) has named Martha Hilley, a professor in the College of Fine Arts’ Butler School of Music at The University of Texas at Austin, their 2014 Teacher of the Year.
Mary Ellen Poole, dean of the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, has been appointed director of the Butler School of Music and holder of the Florence Thelma Hall Centennial Chair in Music at The University of Texas at Austin, effective Sept. 1.

Bruce Pennycook has been appointed director of digital arts for the College of Fine Arts.
