A prominent civil rights advocate, a Texas newspaper publisher, a federal appeals court judge and the chairman of the Board of Regents for the University of Texas System are among the speakers scheduled for convocation ceremonies at The University of Texas at Austin, May 16 and 17.
The 60th Annual Honors Day celebration at The University of Texas at Austin on April 12 will honor the academic accomplishments of 6,410 students during two ceremonies in Gregory Gymnasium. Of the 2008 honorees, 4,997 students will be given the honorary title of College Scholar and 1,413 will be recognized as Distinguished College Scholars.
Jody Conradt, a legend in women's basketball and intercollegiate athletics administration, will be the speaker at the 125th Spring Commencement at The University of Texas at Austin, May 17 on the Main Mall.
