$1.4 Million Gift to Create Arboretum at Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center

A $1.4 million donation to the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center at The University of Texas at Austin will establish an arboretum to showcase the diversity and importance of Texas' trees. The Mollie Steves Zachry Texas Arboretum will display all 53 species of oak trees native to Texas, descendants of historical trees, iconic Texas trees and more, serving as a premier nature education resource.

Event: A free class on how to garden to combat global warming and a new series of classes for the public about making sustainable landscape choices are among the 16 Go Native U options this spring from the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center and Texas Union Informal Classes at The University of Texas at Austin.

School of Architecture Professor Receives Rome Prize Award
