The University of Texas at Austin celebrated three individuals, a family and two nonprofits for their commitment to education and service to the Hispanic community at an awards ceremony at the Emma S. Barrientos Mexican American Cultural Center in Austin on Oct. 3.

Dr. James L. Hill to Receive Friend of Education Award

Dr. James L. Hill, senior vice president and special assistant at The University of Texas at Austin, has been selected by the Austin Independent School District's African American Heritage Program Committee to receive its "Friend of Education Award."
