History

Nursing courses were first offered on The University of Texas at Austin campus in 1960 when faculty members were transferred from The University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston.

The purpose of the Community Climate & Care is to assess, implement, and promote strategies that support a climate within the School of Nursing that facilitates a sense of community and belonging for students, staff, and faculty.

Wellness Centers

The University of Texas at Austin School of Nursing has two clinics, Children's Wellness Center and Family Wellness Center, where nurse practitioners provide primary care and manage acute and chronic conditions.
