Information Sessions at the School of Nursing are designed to enhance students’ understanding of nursing as a major at The University of Texas at Austin. The sessions are specific to targeted students but all provide information about degree requirements, applying to the Upper-Division Professional Sequence, support services and more. Each session is led by an academic advisor, who then serves as a point-of-contact to answer any additional questions or concerns the students may have.
A prospective freshman or transfer student information session is for students interested in attending the University and the School of Nursing; this session is NOT for current UT undergraduate students. You may register to attend a Campus Visit and prospective freshman or transfer student information session through the BE A LONGHORN website.
Friday, May 1st
Location: NUR 1.108 | School of Nursing | 1710 Red River, Austin, Texas
An internal transfer student is a current UT Austin undergraduate in a non-nursing major and wants to transfer (change major) into the School of Nursing pre-professional sequence (pre-nursing). If you are NOT already attending the University, you should attend the prospective freshman or transfer student information session (see above).
Students interested in internally transferring to the School of Nursing MUST attend an internal transfer information session in order to apply to the School of Nursing and to change your major. Advising will be available for students approved for a change of major prior to registration. Students may monitor the status of the Change of Major request via the Check Your RIS website.
