The Association of Nurses in Graduate School (ANGS) is the official graduate student nursing organization recognized by The University of Texas. All graduate nursing students are automatically members and are encouraged to be active participants. ANGS stated purpose is to promote the educational and professional development of nurses enrolled in graduate school at The University of Texas at Austin. The Association sponsors such activities as research colloquia, publishing seminars, and the Gallman Distinguished Lectureship.
ANGS representatives are currently serving on several School of Nursing committees (e.g., Student Affairs, Research, Graduate Studies, Curriculum, and Computer Assistance). Additionally, the ANGS President works closely with the School of Nursing Advisory Council, the Alumni Association, and The University of Texas Nursing Student Association. ANGS also represents nursing graduate students on the University-wide Council of Graduate Students and the Cabinet of College Councils. This varied representation allows academic and professional issues impacting graduate nursing students to be brought before the faculty and the administration.
More information about ANGS including meeting minutes is available to graduate students in BlackBoard.
Please feel free to email ANGS for any comments and suggestions. We are your organization.
