ABSTRACT: The focus of this presentation will be on engaging ethnic minority participants in research studies. Strategies for recruiting and retaining participants and techniques for developing culturally sensitive interventions will be addressed.  Lessons learned from a home-based moderate intensity walking program for midlife African American women will be shared.
