ABSTRACT: Scientific writing involves the interrelationships with publishers, editors, authors, and readers. In this presentation intellectual property rights and open peer review in Nursing Research are the background against which authorship issues, duplicate publication and plagiarism are discussed. Guidelines for authorship are presented and current issues related to duplication publication and steps to avoid it are reviewed.
