In the face of Hurricane Alex

With Hurricane Alex bearing down on Texas and Mexico, hurricane season is officially upon us.

Over the next few months, we will see some storms approaching land several days ahead. Others may develop with little warning at all. But you can take steps right now to make sure your household is ready for hurricanes— whenever and wherever they hit.

Visit our Hurricane Preparedness Section on Redcross website for more information.

Through our hurricane preparedness checklist, you will learn:

  1. How to build an emergency preparedness supply kit
  2. How to make an evacuation plan
  3. What to do if a hurricane watch or warning is issued

We cannot know for sure what could come our way this hurricane season. But one thing's absolutely certain: the best time to get prepared is now. By getting prepared for emergencies, you'll help save the day for your family.

Wishing you a safe and happy summer.
