Biography
Angela P. Clark, PhD, RN, CNS, FAAN, FAHA, is an Associate Professor of Nursing, and a Clinical Nurse Specialist in Cardiopulmonary and Diabetes Care. She is a past President of the National Organization of Clinical Nurse Specialists (NACNS) (2005-2006) and a past President of the American Heart Association, Capitol Area Division, Texas (first non-physician). Currently, she is conducting a 2-year NIH/NINR funded study for people living with chronic heart failure. Dr. Clark was elected into the American Academy of Nursing in 1992 and is a founding member of the Acute and Critical Care Expert Panel and a member of the Special Interest Group on Nursing Education for the Academy. She is an elected Fellow in the American Heart Association, Council on Cardiovascular Nursing and an invited member for the Committee (2005-present) to draft the new Scope and Standards for Cardiovascular Nursing (convened by the American College of Cardiology, American Heart Association, and the American Nurses Association). She recently served as one of 3 editors of the new Emergency Nurses Association (ENA) national guidelines on family presence during resuscitation and invasive procedures.
