Biography
Nola Cottom is a 1975 graduate of The University of Texas at Austin School of Nursing and completed the Masters in Nursing from this school. She is a Clinical Nurse Specialist in Maternal Child Health and a Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse.
She has experience in the fields of Medical/Surgical, Community, Maternity and Psychiatric Nursing.
Ms Cottom taught at The Brackenridge Hospital School of Nursing for six years and has been on the faculty of the UTSON since 1989. She taught both Maternity and Mental Health at both schools.
She is a member of Sigma Theta Tau and is a Lamaze Certified Childbirth Educator, and an American Heart CPR instructor.
Ms Cottom has a strong interest in Parent Education, providing classes in Lamaze, Newborn Care, Breastfeeding and CPR to expectant parents.
