BIOGRAPHY

Sharon L. Dormire, PhD, RN, C, an Assistant Professor of Nursing in the Family, Public Health and Nursing Systems Division, is certified as a Maternal-Newborn nurse. Her research centers on health promotion during menopausal transitions. This work is focused on exploring the physiological processes associated with hot flashes and memory changes at menopause.

Dr. Dormire is the Coordinator of the Parent Child Nursing Program. She has taught a wide variety of core courses in the Parent Child Nursing graduate program. In addition, she has taught doctoral courses in Women's Health and undergraduate nursing research.

Dr Dormire has authored various publications related to menopause, ethics and adolescent pregnancy. She also has publications related to menopause health needs of women with disabilities. Dr Dormire is a journal reviewer for Nursing Research, the Journal of Advanced Nursing, International Journal of Nursing Practice, and Applied Nursing Research.
