Biography
Shalonda Horton is currently an Assistant Clinical Instructor of Public Health Nursing at the University of Texas at Austin School of Nursing. Mrs. Horton has been a registered nurse for over 14 years. Her diverse nursing experience has covered the following areas: oncology, medical/surgical, inpatient psychology, outpatient surgery, and post anesthesia care unit.
Mrs. Horton was active duty in the United States Army Nurse Corps for over 4 years. She now serves as a Major in the United States Army Reserves as the School Director for the 10th Battalion Houston, 4th Brigade, 100th Division.
As a PhD student at the School of Nursing, her research area of interest focuses on personal health responsibility, health promotion, and religious commitment among adolescents.
