Biography
Linda H. Yoder, RN, MBA, PhD, AOCN, FAAN, is an Associate Professor of Nursing and the Director of the Graduate Program in Nursing Administration and Healthcare Systems Management. Her areas of research have included examining the nursing work environment for staff nurses, career development of nurses, and quality of life in patients with chronic illnesses, such as cancer, cardiovascular, and pulmonary disease. She currently is the prinicipal investigator of a 3 year TriService Nursing Research grant examining the quality of life experienced by military service members after they are discharged from the military burn unit (the United States Institute of Surgical Research, Fort Sam Houston, Texas).
Dr. Yoder is collaborating with researchers from the Audy Murphy Veterans Hospital in San Antonio Texas, who have been funded to follow her patient cohort at the 2, 3, and 4 year time points. She is a member of several professional nursing organizations to include the Academy of Medical Surgical Nursing, The Oncology Nursing Society, The Association of Nurse Executives, the American Nurses Association and Sigma Theta Tau International. She was inducted as a Fellow in the American Academy of Nursing in 2004 and serves as a reviewer or editorial board member of several clinical and research journals.
