Dr. Marge Benham-Hutchins is an assistant professor. Her research interests include the influence of health information technology on communication between healthcare providers from multiple professions along the continuum of care. Her research is guided by the principles of Complexity Science and Social Network Analysis. Her study “Network Stability and Fit” is funded by a National Institutes of Health R01 grant. The study looks at social networks and examines communication patterns and patient hand-off during nursing shift changes and how these correlate to patient outcomes. Dr. Benham-Hutchins received a doctorate in nursing from the University of Arizona.
