Dr. Lin is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Nursing of Adult Health Nursing. Her research interests include nurse’s work environments, role transitions, as well as quality and safety in healthcare. Her current research aims to explore the relationships between staffing patterns in acute rehabilitation facilities on nurse and patient outcomes. To examine safe medication administration intravenously, she also served as a co-investigator with a group of faculty at the School of Nursing by examining the use of color as an alternative in learning beginning IV skills among pre-licensure nursing students. In addition to teaching and research, Dr. Lin continues to practice as a staff nurse at an acute rehabilitation unit providing direct patient care. This practical experience provides an insider’s view of nurses’ work experiences. She is actively involved with the Association of Rehabilitation Nurses and American Association of Neuroscience Nurses. Dr. Lin was the recipient of the Faculty Service Award in 2013 at The University of Texas at Austin School of Nursing.
