Subscribing to SON Listservs

Listservs are an easy way to keep up with SoN events, news and activities.

Nursing is used by students to communicate with one another. This is the best way to know what’s going on in the undergraduate organizations. To receive and send messages you must subscribe. Don’t worry. It’s easy.

To Subscribe to Nursing

  • Address an email message to listproc@lists.cc.utexas.edu
  • Leave the “subject” line blank
  • In the body of your email type, “subscribe nursing (first name) (last name)”

In less than a day you should receive an e-mail confirmation that your subscription has been processed.

You may post messages to the Nursing listserv.

To send messages

  • Address your email message to nursing@lists.cc.utexas.edu Your message will go to all subscribers on the list.
  • Responses sent by using the “Reply” button will go only the sender of the message.

To Unsubscribe

  • Address an email message to listproc@lists.cc.utexas.edu
  • Leave the “subject” line blank
  • In the body of your email type, “unsubscribe nursing”

Get Your Mail!!

Our Listservs have difficulty sending messages to individuals with hotmail, yahoo and sometimes even aol accounts. If you use one of these accounts and your messages get bounced back to us, you will automatically be deleted from the listserv.

We strongly recommend you sign up for a mail.utexas email account. It’s free and easy.

  • To activate your UT mailbox go to: http://www.utexas.edu/its/umbs/steps.html
  • Click on "UMBS Web Interface"
  • Then click on "Proceed to UMBS Login Page" (you will need your UT EID)
  • After you log in you will be brought to the UMBS Main Menu. Now choose a display name and password.

It will take approximately 24 hours to activate your new UT mail box account.

To check mail from any internet ready computer across the globe (or just here at UT or home), visit webmail.

Log in with your UT EID. You will then be asked to provide three pieces of information:

  1. User name. This is your e-mail address before the "@" sign.
  2. Password. This is the password you chose when setting up your email account.
  3. Server. Select "mail.utexas.edu" from the drop down menu.
