Virginia Tech Observance

The Virginia Tech Alumni Association has invited the country to take part in their Orange and Maroon Effect day on Friday, April 20. They ask that everyone wear the Virginia Tech school colors on Friday to show support for the students, faculty, administrators, staff, alumni, and friends. I encourage the UT community to take part by wearing Chicago maroon and burnt orange on Friday.

Also, a candlelight vigil will be held on Monday night at 9:00 p.m. on the Main Mall of the UT campus. Out of respect for Virginia Tech, the Tower will be dimmed again on Monday night for this event, and the Carillon will be tolled for victims of the tragedy. Candles will be provided at the ceremony.
