Application Procedures for the Pre-Nursing sequenceStudents must first apply for admission to the University of Texas at Austin as a Pre-Nursing major. Students must be formally admitted to the University with the Pre-Nursing major code in order to complete the BSN prerequisite courses and apply to the Upper-Division Professional Sequence. For more detailed information about applying to UT Austin as a pre-nursing major, including information for internal transfers, please visit the link below: Application Procedures for the Upper-Division Professional SequenceAll students applying for formal admission to the BSN Upper-Division Professional Sequence must submit the following application materials to the Student Affairs Office (NUR 2.104A) by the appropriate deadline—February 15th for Fall admission and September 15th for Spring admission:
*An official high school transcript must be submitted only if the foreign language prerequisite was satisfied in high school. Send all Upper-Division application materials to: Application Procedures for the ADN-BSN ProgramAll students applying for admission to the ADN to BSN program must complete two separate applications: The Texas Common Application as a transfer student and the ADN-BSN application. The School of Nursing ADN-BSN application is located below and must be completed and returned with the application fee to the School of Nursing (NUR 2.104A). Both applications must be completed and submitted by the March 1st deadline for the Fall only program start.

Employment must have occurred within the last three years. PLEASE NOTE: Students are required to submit two separate sets of official transcripts. One set is sent to the UT Austin Office of Admissions for admission to the University. The second is sent to the School of Nursing for admission to the ADN-BSN program. Application Procedures for ALL Graduate Programs in NursingApplying to graduate study at UT-Austin involves submitting separate application materials to the Graduate and International Admissions Center (GIAC) and to the School of Nursing Graduate Student Affairs Office. All students applying for formal admission to the Alternate Entry Master’s and Alternate Entry PhD program must submit the following application materials by the November 1 deadline. Please follow all directions carefully. It is the applicant's responsibility to confirm with each office that all materials have been received on time. Acceptance to Graduate Programs in NursingThe School of Nursing Graduate Admissions Committee may begin preliminary admission reviews as soon as an applicant’s file is complete; however, admission decisions are not made until after the December 1 application deadline. Files that remain incomplete will not be reviewed nor acted upon by the Committee. It is extremely important to have all required application materials submitted by the December 1 deadline. Applicants will be notified of their admission decision in early February and will receive two separate notices: (1) an unofficial letter from the School of Nursing informing you of the Committee’s decision, and (2) an official letter from the Graduate and International Admission Center notifying you of the admission decision of the Office of Graduate Studies. Acceptance by both the School of Nursing and the Office of Graduate Studies is necessary before enrollment is permitted.
