ResearchIn 1989, with support from The University of Texas at Austin, the School of Nursing embarked on a redirection of its focus and resources to strengthen the research enterprise of the faculty. The Dean instituted a formalized structure within the School that would facilitate faculty research development and productivity. In 1995, the position of Associate Dean for Research was established and a Research Office was formed. Staffed by two administrative associates, a research scientist, a research associate, and three graduate research assistants, the research office was renamed as the Cain Center for Nursing Research in the Spring of 2001. The Associate Dean for Research and the staff of the Cain Center provide consultation services and administrative assistance for faculty and graduate students on research methods, statistical analysis, funding sources, grant submissions, and post-award budget management. |
