Welcome to LAMN!
The Mission of The Longhorn Association for Men in Nursing (LAMN) is to foster nursing education, facilitate unity among our future colleagues and leaders in nursing, encourage men to consider nursing as a career, promote a positive image of men in the field of nursing, and provide a social and educational environment for both male and female nursing students.
In order to accomplish these goals, we host speakers with expertise in fields of nursing of particular interest to men to encourage men to consider nursing as a career. Some of these include nurses in critical care, the emergency department, nurse anesthesia, military, academia, and various others advanced practice nurses. Social and volunteer events are some additional ways to get involved in LAMN. Check out our News/Events page for more details!
LAMN is also proud to announce that we are an official chapter of The American Assembly for Men in Nursing, a national organization dedicated to encouraging men to consider nursing as a career and supporting male nurses. Special thanks to LAMN Vice President Justin Savino for coordinating this chapter status.
