First-year Interest Group (FIG) Mentors

Paid Position

FIG peer mentors are responsible for supporting the First-year Interest Group program. Students assist in teaching a one-hour seminar, once a week for the Fall semester. Basic responsibilities include planning, implementing and evaluating seminar classes in conjunction with a professional advisor or a co-mentor. Duties also include communicating and interacting with students outside of seminar time, as well as producing written informational and evaluation materials for students. Additional duties may also be assigned.

Applicants must: (1) be undergraduate students with a desire to help freshman students with their transition to UT and (2) upon being hired, be able to provide evidence of United States employability. A grade point average of at least 2.5 is preferred.
