Academic Peer Tutors
Paid Position
Full-time graduate and undergraduate nursing students (sophomore or above) may apply each spring to become academic peer tutors for the following academic year. To tutor a given course, students must have a (1) an overall GPA of 3.2 or above. (2) have at least a B in the courses he or she wishes to tutor and (3) be familiar with the way the courses are taught at UT.
Tutors may
- assist with homework
- explain concepts
- clarify material presented in lecture
- review returned tests
- help students prepare for forthcoming tests.
Application Forms
Application forms are available in the Learning Enhancement Services Office or students can download the application forms from the links below. New tutors must attend a tutor training session, schedule to be announced. Tutors are paid on an hourly basis by The School of Nursing.
