Support Graduate Education Now
As the Graduate School marks its 100th anniversary in 2010, we pause to reflect on the many accomplishments of our graduate faculty and students. At the same time, we know we must look ahead to continue to grow. Our goal is to honor our past while laying the foundation for the future. Your support is greatly appreciated and will be wisely allocated.
The goals of the Graduate School are firmly grounded in creating a world-class learning environment that attracts and nurtures the highest quality graduate students, which, in turn, enables us to recruit and retain premiere faculty. Outstanding faculty and outstanding graduate students go hand in hand. One does not exist without the other.
The needs of the graduate community are many, and we can best meet these needs by focusing our attention on creating Endowed Graduate Fellowships and increasing funding for Professional Development for our students.
University-wide fellowships, administered by the Graduate School, are the most desirable form of financial support for both recruiting and retaining the most talented graduate students. As a leader in graduate education, The University of Texas must continue to attract diverse and talented young scholars to our campus, and we must provide access and support for students who might otherwise find it difficult or impossible to successfully pursue graduate study. We must continue to attract the best students, both from the U.S. and around the globe, by offering a world-class education while also being financially competitive with other institutions.
Providing an opportunity for our graduate students to present papers and attend professional conferences worldwide is an integral part of graduate education, as well as an opportunity to enhance UT's reputation. Professional meetings are a prime opportunity for our students to showcase their many creative and ingenious endeavors.
Thank you for your generous support of graduate education!
