Dr. Marvin L. Hackert, Associate Dean of the Graduate School and Professor of Chemistry and Biochemistry, has been elected Vice-President of the American Crystallographic Association (ACA) for 2007 and President-elect for 2008. The ACA was founded in 1949 to promote interaction among scientists who study the structure of matter and to advance the experimental and computational aspects of crystallography and diffraction methods. The ACA has over 2200 members from more than 60 countries.
