Resources
Since the October issue of GradNews is focused on teaching, we have provided you with a few resources around campus to help you become a better educator…or just a better student yourself. Whether you take a library class, attend an ASPECTS training session or take advantage of any of the many other opportunities around campus, you will surely be adding something unique to your experience as a graduate student at UT Austin.
The Division of Instructional Innovation and Assessment (DIIA)
The Division of Instructional Innovation and Assessment (DIIA) is one of the best resources for graduate students on the UT campus. DIIA offers many opportunities for graduate students to improve their teaching abilities and learn about pedagogy through the Graduate Student Instructor Program and an array of ASPECTS classes held throughout the year.
ASPECTS classes are free, open to every graduate student at UT and focus on everything from designing effective lectures and classroom discussions to teaching with Powerpoint and using movies in the classroom.
Whether you are currently a graduate student instructor, are interested in becoming one or just want to learn more, these classes are a great way to expand your knowledge.
Complete times and dates to all of the ASPECTS classes are listed on their Web site.
