Ad Hoc Interdisciplinary Program

The university offers a number of established interdisciplinary academic programs that make use of research facilities and faculty expertise from related academic areas.  In addition to these opportunities for interdisciplinary study, students may construct an "ad hoc interdisciplinary doctoral program" with the permission of the graduate program into which they were admitted.  These ad hoc interdisciplinary degree programs draw on the intellectual resources and research facilities of several graduate programs, allowing the student to develop an interdisciplinary program that "follows the knowledge" - wherever that path leads.

Students interested in the ad hoc interdisciplinary doctoral program should consult the graduate adviser of the program to which they are admitted or to which they plan to apply.
