About the UT EID
The UT EID is a unique electronic identifier that allows you to access secure UT web services. Your UT EID will be different than your ApplyTexas user name.
Please do not create another EID for yourself. Only the EID that will be sent to you in the email acknowledging receipt of your online application will be linked to your academic record.
As an applicant, you will use your EID to check the status of your application using our online application status check. If admitted, you will use the EID for other online services from financial aid and housing for registration and bill payment. It will be important for you to remember your UT EID user name and password.
To use your EID, you must activate or claim it using the password assigned in the acknowledgement correspondence. You can do this by logging on to a secure web service such as the application status check. The first time you log on, you will be required to choose a new password and to set up security questions which will allow you to reset your password in the future. Again, it will be important for you to remember your UT EID user name and password, even beyond the period when you are seeking admission.
YOU SHOULD CLAIM YOUR UT EID AS SOON AS YOU RECEIVE THE EMAIL REFERENCED ABOVE.
