Outstanding Graduate Adviser
DAVID G. BOGARD, Professor of Mechanical Engineering, has served as Graduate Adviser since 1997. Dr. Bogard is responsible for the academic endeavors of over 200 master's and doctoral students and the review of over 800 Mechanical Engineering program applications each year. Described as "the heart and soul of the graduate program," he is known for the care and attention he gives to students with regard to both their academic careers and their well-being, as well as for his expertise as a problem solver and administrator. Dr. Bogard is credited with taking initiatives that have led to both improved graduation rates and successful recruitment of highly qualified students in Mechanical Engineering. He is a dedicated adviser, mentor, teacher, researcher, and administrator who makes a positive difference in each student's educational experience.
He received the Graduate School Outstanding Graduate Adviser Award for 2002.
