Outstanding Graduate Coordinator
VIVIAN GOLDMAN-LEFFLER joined the Department of Economics in the fall of 1982 and has served as Graduate Coordinator for over sixteen years. She is involved in every aspect of the graduate program including student recruitment, admissions, awards, program requirements, comprehensive exams, applications for candidacy, UT policies and regulations, and placement activities for graduating students. Faculty, staff, and students regard Vivian as the department's main source of institutional knowledge. However, her dedication goes above and beyond the requirements of her job. She has served as psychologist, guidance counselor, advocate, and temporary "mom" for the hundreds of students who have passed through her office. She is characterized by her faculty nominator as "an articulate individual who brings zest to live at the office."
Vivian received the award for Outstanding Graduate Coordinator for 2001.
