G. EDWARD GIBSON, Associate Professor of Civil Engineering, joined the UT faculty in 1991 after receiving his bachelor's and doctoral degrees from Auburn University and his master's degree from the University of Dallas.  His teaching experience includes the areas of project management, construction contract law, construction cost analysis, and computer applications in Civil Engineering.  Dr. Gibson's effectiveness as an instructor is evidenced by his selection as Instructor of the Year by the Construction Industry Institute, by the more than 100 short courses he has been asked to present to industry organizations, and by the high evaluations he receives from his students.

Dr. Gibson's students and colleagues describe his teaching and mentoring as being characterized by commitment, passion, inspiration, and excellence, and his former students frequently cite the relevance of knowledge and skills gained in his classes to real-world situations they encounter as professional engineers.
