Kamy Sepehrnoori receives his 2004 award for Outstanding Graduate Teaching from Vice Provost and Dean of Graduate Studies Victoria Rodríguez

KAMY SEPEHRNOORI, Bank of America Centennial Professor of Petroleum Engineering, received his bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degrees from The University of Texas at Austin.  He has been a member of the UT faculty since 1981 and leads a nationally recognized research group in reservoir simulation.  His other research interests include numerical solution of differential equations, applied mathematics, enhanced oil recovery, and subsurface remediation modeling.  Dr. Sepehrnoori has published more than 190 technical articles and reports and has served on over 260 thesis and dissertation committees.

In describing Dr. Sepehrnoori's teaching style, students and colleagues cite his outstanding communication skills and ability to link theories with practical applications.  As a teacher and mentor, he is described as caring, dedicated, organized, and a major influence in students' academic and intellectual development.
