Tuition Assistance Benefit for the 2012-2013 year for TAs and AIs employed for at least 20 hours per week will increase from $3,784 to $4,000 (about 5.7%) for both the fall and spring semesters. Read more details at the TA / AI Tuition Assistance page.
Graduate students often seek academic employment opportunities through their departments or programs. You should begin looking for specific availability of academic appointments well in advance of the start of the semester by checking with the graduate adviser or graduate coordinator in the department in which you want employment. Students will need to check with individual professors for GRA positions.
For students who are unable to fill academic positions, employment opportunities also exist both within and outside the university. See nonacademic employment for a list of resources.
Graduate students should also be aware of registration requirements and rules on allowable work hours when employed at the university whether in an academic or nonacademic position. For requirements see Academic Employment: Conditions for Employment.
