PDF Converter Services


If you cannot secure access to the Adobe Acrobat software through a campus computer lab, and do not wish to purchase a copy of the software, many firms on the Web offer PDF Conversion services. Some are free, others charge a fee.

Some sites require you to have your file in Postscript before converting.  We have described how you save word processing files in Postscript format elsewhere on this site.

AFPL Ghostscript

Freeware that converts Postscript files to PDF. This is the "engine" behind the above two online conversion sites.

Smart Soft

Free online and software download for converting files to PDF.

A search in any of the major Web search engines (Google, Alta Vista, Lycos, etc.) for the phrase "PDF Conversion" will yield a list of other firms willing to do this work for a fee.
