Handling Images, Tables, Graphs in PDF files

For best results, images, tables and graphs should all be developed and positioned within your dissertation materials at the word processing stage, before you create a PDF version. However, it is possible to either append images to an existing PDF file or to convert the images as separate PDF files by following these instructions.

Instructions
  1. Open your dissertation PDF file in Adobe Acrobat Exchange.
  2. Within Exchange, under the File menu select Import and then Image.

  3. An Import Image popup box will appear. Highlight the image files you wish include and select Open.

  4. An Acrobat Import Image Plug-in popup box will appear. Decide which of the two displayed options you want -- to append the image files to your dissertation PDF or to save them as separate PDF files. Select the OK button to finish this step.
