Application Fee Waiver For McNair Scholars
McNair Scholars are eligible for an Graduate Application Fee Waiver when applying to the Graduate School at The University of Texas at Austin - except for those apply for MBA, MPA, or Law School.
When applying online – If you are using the ApplyTexas application, when you are ready to submit your online application indicate that you are paying by check but do not send a check. If you receive a request for the application fee, ignore it.
If you are using the custom application for Engineering or Social Work, do not pay through UT Direct.
After you submit your application and it uploads to our system, you will receive an email with your UT EID. Please email Marla Boye after you receive your UT EID. Be sure to include your UT EID in the email. Attach documentation from your McNair administrator stating that you are a McNair Scholar. After the documentation is received, your graduate application fee will be waived. You will be unable to upload any documents to your Application Status Check until Ms. Boye waives your application fee. Send documentation to her at marla.boye@austin.utexas.edu.
