Assist over 12,000 students a year.
Goal is to improve service to graduate students.
Career Services – most colleges have a career service offices, focus on helping students get jobs.
Sanger is centralized office – helps students try to figure out what it is they want to do (no job service assistance). Students have opportunity for career counseling with people who have MA in counseling.
Do career assessment as well.
Want to work with graduate students more; help students who feel that they no longer want to do academia – career changes.
Supplemental Instruction (SI) –structured teaching offered for graduate students.
Offers teaching techniques; opportunity to think about their teaching (philosophy); meet with each other (talk about what works, what doesn’t); work on ways to adapt SI to different disciplines.
Writing – can work with students struggling with good use of time; blockages.
