Building a Research Career from the Dissertation

Thursday, April 10, 2008
2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.
SZB 278
Dr. Tommy Darwin

Dissertations serve as the springboard for one's professional career, whether in or out of the academy. This workshop will cover the ways that a dissertation serves as the basis of one's research career. The workshop provides a practical framework for using the dissertation itself to set up the next steps beyond graduate school. Although the workshop is focused on doctoral students, its lessons apply equally well to all graduate students. This workshop is developed from Dr. Darwin's course 390W: Dissertation, Grantwriting, Publishing.
