David Wayne Hammers
David is a student in the Exercise Physiology program, where he studies the muscle’s ability to regenerate after suffering traumatic injury. His research is sure to make a major contribution to his field, as his work already has clear implications for how older individuals deal with both ischemia-inducing chronic disease and acute conditions. His doctoral work elaborates on his master’s research by identifying the mechanism that dictates the decreased muscle recovery with those injuries. He is considered to one of the absolute top students in his program, a strong teacher, and a consistently worthy fellowship recipient over the past three years.
