Geraldine Conrad - Master's: Public Policy, 1972
I earned two Master’s in Austin, both of immense personal value but not market-driven! I returned in 1970 to join the first class at the LBJ School after previously earning an MA in American Civilization, an inter-disciplinary program that allowed me to minor in Radio-TV-Film. I remember the day we drove out to the LBJ Ranch for a seminar with LBJ and former Prime Minister Harold Wilson. Several hours sitting under the shade trees along the Pedernales with the largest personality I have encountered to this day, showing a range of moods and emotions unlike anyone else. We toured the ranch and I left feeling I had met the grandfather I never had. The subsequent dedication of the library and the school was another highlight; I only regret not introducing myself to Gregory Peck.
