Sharon Black-Greene - Master's: Public Libraries, 1997
I began my graduate studies at the University of Hawaii, Manoa, while my husband was transitioning out of the military. We stayed with his mother in San Antonio, while he looked for a job. A good friend from our undergraduate days helped him get a job, and Barbara Imroth helped me transfer six hours to UT GSLIS. I continued to homeschool my sons while attending grad school. Perhaps that is why one attended UT and the other TAMU.
I enjoyed my classes, especially Fran Miksa’s Cataloging and Irene Roy’s Public Libraries class. The reference class that had us use most of the libraries at UT was really an eye opener.
Since graduation I have worked at two small community libraries as Director and Co Director and am now working for Austin Public Library.
