Warren Hahn - Doctorate: MSIS, 2005
Growing up in the rural Texas Hill Country, I thought I might become the first in my family to go to college, but I must say that I never envisioned going to graduate school. After eight years in a two-room school house in Doss (my only classmate was my cousin!) and four years at Fredericksburg High School, it was on to engineering school at UT. There were a few bumps along the way, but after earning a BS in engineering, I was blessed with the opportunity to pursue an MS in engineering and the privilege to work under National Academy of Engineering member Ray Loehr. After a decade of working in the energy industry, I was again blessed to be able to return to UT for an MBA, and then a Ph.D. in MSIS, and I’m now a professor in the business school at Pepperdine University. I can’t imagine any other place that would have provided the same challenges and opportunities for growth that I experienced at UT, and I couldn’t be prouder of my University and its Graduate School, and the excellence they embody.
