BIOGRAPHY
Native-born Texan whose study of history and library and information science was undertaken at Loyola University (B.A., 1970), University of Texas at Austin (M.A., 1983; Ph.D. candidate at present), with additional post-graduate study at Oxford University (1970) and the Newberry Library (1978). Publications have centered on archival guides and histories especially for Texas and northeastern Mexico, historical studies for Texas-based archeological reports (for the Texas Department of Transportation and others), and English translations of historical documents written in Spanish. Present academic work is in Library Administration and Archival Enterprise, Graduate School of Library and Information Science. Focus of dissertation is archival administration during the latter part of the eighteenth century in New Spain. Present employment is within the Benson Latin American Collection for which I report to the Head Librarian in matters regarding outreach, programs, and grant development.
