BIOGRAPHY

The focus of Dr. Laubach's research is on solving the challenges of characterizing structures in deep sedimentary basin environments. These challenges are the main impediments to successful exploration and development of much of the potential U.S. domestic natural gas and oil supply. Dr. Laubach has numerous publications in the scientific and technical literature and serves as Vice Chair of the American Association of Geologists Research Committee. He served on the National Research Council panel on Advanced Drilling Technology and was co-chair of the first North American Rock Mechanics Symposium (in 1994) bringing together the Canadian, U.S., and Mexican rock mechanics communities.
