BIOGRAPHY

Dina Sherzer is Professor Emeritus of French and Italian and Comparative Literature at The University of Texas at Austin and chair of the department of French and Italian. She received her Ph.D. in Romance Langauges from the University of Pennsylvania in 1970. Her fields of specialty are 20th century French literature and film and postcolonialism. Her books include Cinema Colonialism Postcolonialism: Perspectives from the French and Francophone Worlds (edited volume), Humor and Comedy in Traditional Puppetry (edited volume), Beckett translating/Translating Beckett (edited volume), and Representation in contemporary French Fiction, Structure de la trilogie de Beckett: Molloy, Malone meurt, L'Innommable. She has held a National Endowment for the Humanities fellowship.
